Keowee Key

Keowee Key is the biggest and most amenity-dense gated community on Lake Keowee, occupying a 1,700-acre peninsula that juts deep into the lake. Unlike The Cliffs or The Reserve, Keowee Key does not require a private-club membership on top of the home purchase — all of its amenities (golf is optional and additional) are included with a straightforward HOA.

That structure attracts a slightly different buyer: more full-time residents, more active retirees, more year-round activity. Keowee Key's community events calendar is genuinely one of the busiest on the lake, with dozens of standing social clubs, fitness groups, boating groups, and interest circles. It also has some of the most competitive tennis and pickleball on Lake Keowee.

Home prices at Keowee Key generally start lower than The Cliffs or The Reserve, which makes it an approachable entry into a full-amenity Lake Keowee community. Waterfront homes are limited (most of the community is interior lake-access), but community docks and two marinas make boat storage and lake use easy for every owner.
